Day 1: Luang Prabang arrival (Meals: N/A)
Upon arrival at Luang Prabang International Airport, a guide and driver of Laos Tours Expert will welcome you and transfer to hotel in town for check in. The rest of day is at your own leisure.
Luang Prabang – the best preserved city in South East Asia is exceptional for both its rich architectural and artistic heritage that reflects the fusion of Lao traditional urban architecture with that of the colonial era. Its remarkably well-preserved townscape reflects the alliance of these two distinct cultural traditions.
Your unforgettable memory is the Bustling Hill Tribe Night Market where sells traditional textiles and handicrafts made by the ethnic local people.

Day 2: Cycling around the Heritage Site (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch)
Wake up early in the morning and cycle to the old town to participate in the daily early morning ritual of saffron-clad monks with their black Alms-giving bowls being given offerings from the local people, including the ubiquitous sticky rice. Have a simple preparation by your own and show your respect to the monks and our people is highly appreciated.
Enjoy your simple breakfast in the restaurant along the river bank with local cuisine before start your day tour on bike. Beginning your trip with a visit of the former king’s palace, which is now a Royal Palace Museum. Many items nicely displayed include rare furniture, traditional costumes and arts, jewelry, ornaments as well as working tools and utensils of the early part of the 20th century. Continuing on to Wat Mai, a temple renowned for its golden bas-reliefs. Then we embark on a tour of this enthralling town to visit Wat Xieng Thong – the Golden City monastery, which dates back to the 16th century and is considered to be the finest in Laos. Furthermore, we visit Wat Visoun which entirely rebuilt after its destruction in 1887 by the invading Black Flags from southern China. In the courtyard of Wat Visoun stands the Watermelon Stupa, which is shaped like the fruit it takes its name from. Visit the nearby Wat Aham before continuing to the Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre for insight in to the countries various ethnic groups and traditional crafts.
Later that day, we adjourn to the Phousi Holy Hill to enjoy the marvelous panoramic views of the town at sunset.

Day 3: Luang Prabang – Pak Ou caves (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch)
Today we board a private longtail boat upstream on the Mekong River, which also gives us a beautiful view of the tranquil countryside as well as an interesting visit to the mysterious of Pak Ou Caves. En route, stop over to visit Ban Xang Hai where distillation sticky rice wine can be seen. Gently cruise up the Mekong River to admire the startling collection of gold-lacquered Buddha statues of all shapes and sizes nestled deep in the massive limestone caverns of the Pak Ou Cave. On the return cruise, stop at small villages to see the production of traditional Lao textiles and Sa paper by local artisans.

Day 4: Trekking to Ban Long Lao – Kuang Si Waterfall (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch)
Today we will enjoy a short visit through the Luang Prabang countryside. Begin with a visit to the ethnic Khmu village of Ban Long Lao Nung before heading to the nearby Hmong village of Ban Long Lao Song. You will be able to observe the lifestyles of these two culturally very different minority groups and see how despite their differences they manage to work together on a day to day basis and even sharing the same school. As we continue onwards the trail leads through rice paddys and vegetable fields before reaching the mountainous forest. Along the way we explore a cave which was used as a bomb shelter by the locals during the Second Indochina War.
After visiting the cave one more hour of trekking brings us to one of the many springs which feeds Kuang Xi waterfalls, here a beautiful pool full of sacred fish can be seen. Lunch can be taken at the falls with time for relaxation, swimming and the possibility to climb to the top of the waterfall. Afterwards you return to Luang Prabang in time to catch the sun setting over the Mekong.

Day 5: Luang Prabang – Shangri Lao Explorer (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
After breakfast, you will be picked up from the hotel and transfer by air conditioned VIP van to the Shangri-Lao Explorer Camp. It is about 15 km out of town, Elephant Tour takes place in the middle of a green, natural surroundings, settled on the banks of the Nam Khan river. Upon arrival, leave your luggage at the reception and get an introductory tour of the elephant camp.  Your guide will teach you about elephants and you may talk with the veterinarian, feed the elephants or relax by the riverside.
The expedition begins with a 5 km elephant ride through teak forests, dense jungle and over rolling hills to a hidden valley. After reaching the protected Huay Sae Valley, leave your elephant and enjoy a luxury lunch of traditional Lao food with wine by a secluded waterfall.  You may even have a swim in the natural pools. Continue with a 5 km trek on foot.  This adventurous trail crosses bamboo bridges and passes numerous waterfalls with blue pools hidden in the dense jungle. Down at the bank of the Nam Khan River, your luxury bamboo raft awaits you.  Slowly drift downstream on this relaxing journey.  Enjoy a coffee break while you relax and watch the traditional village life of farmers and fishermen along the river banks.  Take advantage of an optional 30 min stop at the Tad Sae Waterfall.
In the late afternoon you will arrive at the camp where your luxury tent is ready for check-in. Spend the rest of the day at the jacuzzi swimming pool or go for a walk with your guide to visit the local nearby village. In the evening a delicious barbeque dinner will be served under the starry sky. Retire for the evening in your luxury style tent which will touch all of your senses with its unique decor and surroundings.

Day 6: Mahout Trainining – Luang Prabang (Meals: Breakfast)
Rise early and meet the elephants down at the river bank to join their daily bath.  After a short Mahout instruction you may ride bareback on the elephant’s neck, wash her and guide her through the river back to the camp. Leave the camp and return by air conditioned VIP van to Luang Prabang where your guide will drop you off at your hotel.

Day 7: Luang Prabang – Departure (Meals: Breakfast)
Today you will be transferred to the airport and catch your departure flight back home.
