Connect your trip to slowly life in Laos in Luang Prabang – the sleepy town nested amongst 2 rivers (Nam Khan & Mekong River) and end your trip at Vientiane – the country’s charming capital.
As with all our itineraries, we have created lots of enjoyable time as you can interact with local people and learn the real life in Vietnam & Laos. Day 1: Saigon arrival (Meals: N/A)
On arrive at Tan Son Nhat airport in Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon), our Vietnam Tours Expert tour guide will welcome and transfer you to your hotel in the city center. You will be free to recover somewhat from jet leg. Overnight in your hotel in Saigon.

Day 2: Saigon city tour (Meals: Breakfast)
Full day city tour, visit Former Presidential Palace, the War Crime Museum, the central complex of architecture: the Notre Dame Cathedral, the City Hall, the Municipal Theater, Xa Loi Pagoda, where keeps the glass vase that on its central altar contains the heart of Thich Quang Duc, a Buddhist monk who felt so strongly about the in humane treatment of his fellows that he committed suicide by burning on June 11, 1963 as a final protest, visit Ben Thanh market and China town.

Day 3: Saigon – Day trip to Mekong delta – fly to Da Nang – Hoi An (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch)
Our driver will meet you at the hotel lobby and we will drive to Cai Be. The program will start with the visit of Cai Be’s colorful floating market cruising among local barges full of fruits and vegetables. Then, an optional stop can be made at local workshops where you can see how rice paste, coconut candy, and pop-rice pop-corn is made.
Visit the handicraft village where you can see how they make rice-net for spring-rolls, fish sauce and Soya sauce, cooking salt, sewing coconut-leaves for cottage proof.
A delicious lunch will be served at an ancient house over 170 years old or under the shade of local orchards on An Binh Island
After lunch, a traditional rowboat will take you deeper into the countryside on small canals to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. You’ll see the traditional houses made of wood and palm tree leaves and the activities of the local farmers to see how they catch fish or pick up fruits using the ancient customs of the Mekong Delta.
Another stop can be made at a nursery garden where you will discover how the growers of the Mekong Delta produce their world famous fruits and vegetables.   You can meet Mr Tiger and his son who are successful in Vietnam agriculture. We will enjoy different types fruit from his garden and homemade rice wine while listening to traditional music
The cruise will end at around 3.30 PM in Vinh Long town. Then we will drive back to Saigon for late flight to Da Nang. Upon arrival, pick up and transfer to Hoi An town 35km away..

Day 4: Hoi An Walking tour (Meals: Breakfast)
Located on the north bank of the Thu Bon river, the UNESCO designated World Heritage town of Hoi An was one of the Orient’s major trading ports in the 16th and 17th centuries. Enjoy Hoi An walking tour through the Old Quarters to see the town’s landmarks of Japanese Covered Bridge, ancient Assembly Hall, Phuc Kien Temple. Free at leisure in the afternoon.

Day 5: Hoi An Cooking Class (Meals: Breakfast)
Visit Hoi An’s colourful market, and experience the amazing sights, sounds and aromas of this busy market. We will have the opportunity to interact with the local sellers and learn about all the ingredients to be used in the cooking lesson later.
We board the Red Bridge boat for a leisurely cruise (25 minutes) along the Hoi An River to the Red Bridge Cooking School. This is a chance to view local river life, so make sure your camera is handy.
On arrival, we explore the cooking school’s herb garden, before learning about some of Hoi An’s and Vietnam’s well-known dishes. The cooking lesson runs for about 2 hours – the Red Bridge chefs first demonstrate each dish before we prepare the same dish ourselves. Included in the class is a brief introduction to Vietnamese food carving (plate decoration).
It’s a fun day and you get to ‘enjoy’ your efforts in the restaurant for lunch. The school has a riverside pool that you can use before a leisurely cruise along the Hoi An River back to central Hoi An.

Day 6: Hoi An – fly to Hanoi (Meals: Breakfast)
Enjoy your free time in Hoi An town before transferred to the airport for a flight to Hanoi. Stop en-route for taking the time to stop at the Cham Museum, home to the finest collection of Cham sculptures in the world and Marble Mountain, containing dozens of Buddhist shrines.
After one hour flight you will land at Noi Bai airport in the Hanoi Capital of Vietnam. Pick up and transfer to your hotel in the city center. In the afternoon we would like to present you Hanoi locals’ daily life with one hour trishaw (cyclo) ride around Hanoi Old streets, Hoan Kiem lake, stop at Ngoc Son temple.

Day 7: Hanoi city tour (Meals: Breakfast)
For the early risers, may we suggest a stroll along the picturesque Hoa Kiem Lake where each morning, groups of locals gather to do their exercises along the lovely tree-lined promenade. You may cross over the red bridge at the north end to Ngoc Son Temple and the Tortoise Tower on a small island.
After breakfast, you will have a full day on your own to see the city so goodwalking shoes are a must. You will have many options to choose from:
– Temple of Literature, built in 11th Century and the country’s first University
– Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum and Presidential Palace
– Ho Chi Minh’s Stilt House
– One Pillar Pagoda
– Ethnology Museum
– Opera House
– Hoa Lo prison, which is also known as the “Hanoi Hilton”
– West Lake & Tran Quoc Pagoda
In the evening, attend a Water Puppet show – the unique form of  Vietnamese artderived from wet rice civilization of South East Asia.

Day 8: Hanoi – Halong Bay (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
After breakfast, leaving Hanoi by road for Ha Long Bay cruise, enjoy drive though the rural area with scenic view of rice paddy field in the Red River Delta. You may be lucky enough to see cows or pigs on motor bike or Vietnamese kids ridding on water buffalo flying kites. On the way, enjoy famous Vietnamese Coffee at Vietnam Handicraft Center. Upon arrival, check in Vietnamese traditional cruise in Ha Long Bay. Journey along the spectacular limestone islands, floating villages while having sea food lunch, then disembark to visit ‘Sung Sot’ or Surprising Cave, one of the most beautiful grottos in Ha Long Bay . The next stop is Ti Top Island where you could swim on sandy beach or climb up to the top for panoramic view. In the evening, you will be delighted by candle light dinner on board with seafood dishes.

Day 9: Halong Bay – Hanoi – fly to Luang Prabang (Meals: Brunch)
Participate in Tai Chi on the top deck or simply watch the sunrise over the magnificent bay. Enjoy your morning cup of coffee or juice before setting out tothe nearby cave on a row boat. Watch for monkeys high on the cliff tops. Returnback to the Junk where breakfast is served, while sailing around Bay Tu Long baywhere the movie “Indochine” was filmed.
Your cruise will end at noon and you will met your guide & driver for the tripback to Hanoi and then transfer the Noi Bai airport for your flight to Luang Prabang.
On arrival at the airport, a guide and private car of Laos Tours Expert will welcome you and transfer you to hotel in town for check in. Free at your leisure in the rest of day. In the evening, you are free to walk through the bustling Hill tribe Market for traditional textiles and handicrafts made by the hill tribes.

Day 10: Luang Prabang city tour – Pak Ou Caves (Meals: Breakfast)
This morning you are advised to wake up early and participate in the daily early morning ritual of saffron-clad monks with their black Alms-giving bowls being given offerings from the local people, including the ubiquitous sticky rice. Have a simple preparation by your own and show your respect to the monks and our people is highly appreciated.
Today we will visit the former king’s palace, which is now a Royal Palace Museum. Many items nicely displayed include rare furniture, traditional costumes and arts, jewelry, ornaments as well as working tools and utensils of the early part of the 20th century. Then we embark on a tour of this enthralling town to visit Wat Xieng Thong – the Golden City monastery, which dates back to the 16th century and is considered to be the finest in Laos.
Then we board a cruise upstream on the Mekong River, which also gives us a beautiful view of the tranquil countryside as well as an interesting visit to the mysterious of Pak Ou Caves. En route, stop over to visit Ban Xang Hai where distillation sticky rice wine can be seen. Gently cruise up the Mekong River to admire the startling collection of gold-lacquered Buddha statues of all shapes and sizes nestled deep in the massive limestone caverns of the Pak Ou Cave. On the return cruise, stop at small villages to see the production of traditional Lao textiles and Sa paper by local artisans.

Day 11: Trekking to Ban Long Lao – Kuang Si Waterfall (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch)
Today we will enjoy a short visit through the Luang Prabang countryside. Begin with a visit to the ethnic Khmu village of Ban Long Lao Nung before heading to the nearby Hmong village of Ban Long Lao Song. You will be able to observe the lifestyles of these two culturally very different minority groups and see how despite their differences they manage to work together on a day to day basis and even sharing the same school. As we continue onwards the trail leads through rice paddys and vegetable fields before reaching the mountainous forest. Along the way we explore a cave which was used as a bomb shelter by the locals during the Second Indochina War.
After visiting the cave one more hour of trekking brings us to one of the many springs which feeds Kuang Si waterfalls, here a beautiful pool full of sacred fish can be seen. Lunch can be taken at the falls with time for relaxation, swimming and the possibility to climb to the top of the waterfall. Afterwards you return to Luang Prabang in time to catch the sun setting over the Mekong.

Day 12: Luang Prabang – Vientiane (Meals: Breakfast)
After breakfast we take a stroll on the Phousi Market where you see many local products such as dried buffalo skin, local tea and saltpeter among the chickens, vegetables and hill-tribe weavings. Then catch your flight to Vientiane – the country’s charming capital, with its laidback riverside ambience, and alluring monuments.
On arrival Wattay Internationa Airport in Vientiane, you will be welcomed by a guide and driver of Laos Tours Expert and start your tour with the city’s oldest temple, Wat Sisaket – filled with thousands of Buddha figurines. Then explore the former royal temple, Wat Prakeo, which previously housed the famous Emerald Buddha. En route to the famous That Luang Stupa, stop to visit the imposing Patuxay Monument, known as Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph.

Day 13: Vientiane – Departure (Meals: Breakfast)
You are free to walk around the hotel area along the river bank where you could view the sun rise over the Mekong before driving to the airport to catch your departure flight back home.
